Leon Burson Post 395

Our activities consist of providing a place for Veterans to meet and exchange stories of their service to their country. We are also open to the families and friends of these Veterans. We have some special happenings that are open to all and that includes special meals, car shows, holiday events, the game of Lightning and Queen of Hearts on Friday evenings with meals provided by our great cook, Kathy and our goal at this time is to attract youngsters to movie nights and games upstairs in our large hall for all ages. Our Sons of the American Legion Chapter has breakfasts during the colder months and our Local Scouts have fish fry nights during the 6 weeks or so during Lent and Easter.

We have a very active Honor Guard that serves our Veterans that have passed on. We provide a Color Guard, rifle squad and a bugler to play taps. We also provide a Color Guard for our Plano High School home football games and we march in many town parades with our 1948 Jeep riding alongside. Please visit our post when you have a chance to see where so many hometown heroes have spent so much of their time and talent to make a home both for themselves and for you!      Gary Fruland, Commander, 630-334-9898
